Howdy!

Coming to you with another product experience with the aboslute wonderful product line from Karen’s Body Beautiful. Yup, this one is in Target stores too! All the products from the gift box I received from KBB will be sold in Target! In case you missed the ones I’ve reviewed so far, check them out here: Sweet Ambrosia, Butter Love, Hold It Gel w/Argan Oil.

KBB finally posted a list of Target stores that will carry these on their Facebook Page. I also noticed the release date is now March 18, not February as I mentioned in previous posts. Oh well, it’s definitely worth the wait!

***SIDEBAR — I also just saw as I am typing this (it’s Friday, Feb 15) that KBB, for a limited time, brought back some of the retired scents that I used to love back in the day!!! (coco lime, coconut fig and luscious pear are TO DIE for!) I wonder if she saw my plea to bring them back lol. Sadly, I won’t be buying any this time :o( since I need to use up what I have first. HOPEFULLY, she will run this special again!! ***wink** :o)

Ok so let me tell you about the Hair Blossom Moisture Mist. It retails on the KBB site for $16 for 7.1 oz of product and the same on CurlMart. Mine is the juicy smelling Pomegranate Guava.

Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Gel, Water (Aqua), Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Panthenol, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Amica) Extract, Calendula officinalis (Calendula) Extract, Echinacea angustifolia (Echinacea) Extract, Urtica dioica (Nettle) Extract, Equisetum (Horsetail) Extract, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Argania spinosa (Argan) Oil, Limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Helianthus annus (Sunflower) Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Potassium Sorbate, and Vitamin E (Tocopherol).

This mist spray is PERFECT for when you are twisting or re-twisting your hair. I use this to dampen and moisturize my hair before I twist it back up for the night. It’s got an amazing mixture of oils and extracts along with my beloved aloe vera and since its water-based, this will definitely moisturize your hair which is why I love to use it before I do my twists because the shea/oil based products I use seal in the moisture from the Hair Blossom Mist. So in essence, this is an alternative to my usual spritzer mixes. Besides it providing moisture, it also helps soften my hair which I find helps my twist-outs become more defined the next day. This contains glycerin and aloe which are both humectants. If you wear your hair in a wash-n-go style, this is a great way to refresh your curls and provide some moisture.

Butter :: Karen’s Body Beautiful Butter Love

Howdy!

This is my 2nd product experience from the Karen’s Body Beautiful line of products that are now going to be sold in Target stores this month (Yaayyyy!!). In case you missed it, check out my experience with my top fav leave-in conditioner of all time… the Sweet Ambrosia here!

Ok this is all about the wonderful Butter Love. It’s literally a simple, lovely mixture of some of the best butters for hair! It comes in a 6.7 oz tub for $18. And YES if you order from the KBB site, you can pick which scent you want! Mine below is the Pomegranate Guava so it’s got a juicy, fruity tropical thing going on. KBB scents are never overbearing but linger in your hair for a couple days which I love :o)

Product Description
Made only from rich, thick butters and luxurious oils, Karen’s Butter Love conditions, softens and adds sheen to fragile, stressed hair. Great for thick hair. Use twice a week on hair and scalp or as needed.Works best on dry hair since wet hair generally doesn’t absorb butters and rich oils readily.

Ingredients
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao) , Mango Butter (Mangifera Indica) , Jojoba Butter (Simmondsia Chinensis), Aloe Butter, Essential and/or Fragrance Oils (Parfum), Grapefruit Seed Oil (Citrus Paradisi) & Vitamin E (Tocopherol). Glycerin Free, Paraben Free, Protein Free, Silicone Free, Sulfate Free

If you check out the ingredients, you’ll see it’s literally a love swirl of butters! Its super thick and solid in the tub. I have to literally dig my fingers in it to scoop up the butter which isn’t an issue for me. It may soften a bit in warmer temperatures or in the summer but as soon as you rub it in between your fingers/hands it softens and you can then apply it. It’s not greasy or oily, its truly a solid butter with more of a waxy feel (but not in a bad way!). You can even use this on your skin :o)

When I first bought this years ago, I didn’t really know exactly what to do with plain, pure butters because I hadn’t really gotten into the 100% natural way of maintaining my hair so it kind of sat under my sink for awhile lol BUT as soon as I discovered the power of sealing your hair….this is GOLD to me! So ever since I have been using this to seal my ends. THICK butters are the best thing for sealing your ends. I also like to use this on parts of my hair that lose moisture the most like around my edges and the nape of my neck. I could use this as my main product to do twist-outs but I like to reserve it for sealing since I do that frequently. This is also good for holding down your edges when you apply it and tie a scarf over to “set” them or I use it to smooth my hair when I do a puff. It definitely doesn’t hold like gel does but it works if you “set” your hair with a scarf to hold them edges down lol.

Check out the pictures below of my hair styled with the Sweet Ambrosia and the ends sealed with the Butter Love. When your ends are sealed, your curls should clump and be defined and the Butter Love really does that. If you look at my posts for the Sweet Ambrosia, I used the Butter Love in those pics too so check those out too.

If you’ve been looking for something to seal your ends with or just have a good, high-quality general use butter, this is good buy. The price point is a bit high but I’ve found the all the KBB products I’ve used last a really long time and plus with butters you don’t need to use a lot, especially when they are thick and dense like the Butter Love :o)

OK I have ANOTHER confession to make….(remember when I confessed about bentonite clay awhile back??)

…well I have been a HUGE fan of Karen’s Body Beautiful since 2008 and have been holding out on you guys lol just playing! well sort of lol

YES it is true, I have been in love with their Butter Love and Sweet Ambrosia for YEARS (they were actually called Hair Butter and Hair Milk!). Back then KBB only had like 5 products (she now has like 20 lol), the basic clear/white lid packaging with sticky labels and had more scents to choose from (I miss the coconut fig and the coco lime scents!!!!). I think I have literally tried almost every scent they offered and that was actually what got me really excited about her products back in the day hehe (I am a sucker for some yummy smelling hair!). I haven’t used KBB in over a year to be honest because I wanted to explore other products and see what else is out there…but I have learned that you always return back to “home” lol. Between 2008 and 2010 KBB was literally ALL I used on my hair and it was SO healthy and full of life…then the great depression (losing my mom) came over me and I really slacked off with my hair so that’s when I fell off BUT I have been a re-born fan BECAAAaaauusee…….

This makes me INCREDIBLY happy because there is nothing like being able to walk in a store you already frequent regularly and picking up your favorite products AND knowing that they are all natural, with the high quality ingredients, free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones and mineral oil! You guys, this is major lol I am not merely trying to hype this stuff up lol I really feel some kind of way about this lol. I have gotten so many comments about readers not being able to find good products on the ground…well ladies and gents, you can now! Target is doing it BIG when it comes to our natural hair community! Their natural hair product roster is quite impressive :o) (Remember when Shea Radiance hit the shelves to?! LOVE them as well!)

Ok so for the details, I don’t have an exact date of when they will hit shelves but it will be this upcoming February and they will offer six of their best selling products. I imagine they will hopefully post a list of participating Target stores on their website or Facebook page. The only semi-sad thing about buying KBB from Target is you don’t get to choose which scent you want lol that’s the fun part for me! But the products all work great regardless of the scent :o)

Shea Radiance Target Launch Party

Yesterday I was privileged to attend the Shea Radiance launch party at the beautiful Vantage House in Columbia, MD. As you may know, Shea Radiance JUST launched in Target stores nationwide and celebrated a huge milestone in the company’s history. While at the event, the owner, Funlayo, shared how she had her vision for her, once a small start up, business and that her dream was have her products sold in Target! It was so inspiring to hear her story and to see her dream become a reality! I have nothing but great things to say about this entire product line. EVERY product I have tried has been amazing. I will be a long-time fan of this brand and am so happy it is Target so more of you can see what this hype is about lol! The event was very posh, west-African inspired decor, the right touches on everything!

Oh but you wanna know something ironic….it’s NOT, well not yet, sold in the Target near me (Rio in Gaithersburg) lmao! Of course, just my luck go figure lol

Shea Radiance is Now Sold at TARGET!

This is some exciting news for all you Product Junkies out there…

Shea Radiance is now sold at TARGET nationwide!! Before this AMAZING hair line was sold only online and at certain Whole Foods but now you can get it at Target! It was just released today, August 16th but I don’t see it on the Target.com website yet. I am sure in due time they will sell in via their website . I THINK they released a couple new products alongside the Target launch…but I could be wrong…

You guys have to try this stuff out! It is by far one of my favs, up there with my love for Oyin products :o)
