Hair Style : : Slicked Sides Front Poof

Hair Style : : Slicked Sides Front Poof

You like the post title? lol no clue else how to describe this one haha

Here’s another quick and easy style I like to do at the end of a twist-out (before it gets too rough looking without having to retwist). You can also do this on an old wash-n-go too. It’s a great style when you want your hair out of your face or you want to show off some cute earrings :o) This is also “work-friendly” for those who may be a bit more conservative or nervous about wearing their hair out.

I sectioned my hair in 3 parts with my fingers, leaving that majority of the back out— the two sides and the front.

I clipped the front section out of the way. I spritz the sides bit to soften up the hair then I slicked up the two side sections with my trusty Eco-Styler and then bobbi pinned the two sides at the top my head using about 3-4 pins.

Once I secured the sides, I then released the front section and formed a poof, and then secured it with another bobbi pin. I then fluffed the back to create more volume.

That’s it!

The dope thing about this style is I can make it last like 3-4 days. All I do is tie a triangle shaped scarf around my head, smoothing down the edges, and put a bonnet over the back part (to protect from my pillow). All I have to do in the morning it re-fluff the back and the poof a little bit. I didn’t even have to take out the bobbi pins lol Can we say..LAZY! oh well lol it’s all about improvisation….

NOTE: This is probably the truest picture of my hair color. That flash always makes it appear a bunch of crazy colors lol

Hair Style :: Puff with Eco-Styler

Hair Style :: Puff with Eco-Styler

I confess… I am not very creative when it comes to styling my hair, simply because I just don’t have the time in the mornings before work (I am NOT a morning person at all lol) and I just can’t seem to come up with styles that look right with my head lol. I just stick to simple twist-outs and bantu knot-outs.

So when I do attempt to “style” my hair, I like to do puffs. Puffs are easy to do, they are good for those days when you don’t feel like twisting your hair and it has no curl pattern. It’s my go-to style when all else fails lol. I only like to rock this style for a couple of days because I don’t like the tension of hair being pulled plus i sometimes get that dreaded headache from the headband.

I start by spraying my hair with water to soften it up and put a little oil or moisturizer in it as well. Then I slap on a bunch of eco-styler around my edges all the way around my head and then brush it upwards with a smoothing brush. To hold the puff, I use 2 stretched out headbands wrapped around my hair twice (I think they are Goody brand).I put the headbands around my neck and then smooth them upward towards the crown of my head so the puff sits on top rather than the back.

After it’s all smoothed back, I tie a scarf around the smoothed back part and leave it on for about 30 mins to let the gel dry and set my hair in place. I fluff the puff and that’s it!
