Deep Condition :: The Natural Root 2-in-1 Sweet Honey Deep Conditioner

Deep Condition :: The Natural Root 2-in-1 Sweet Honey Deep Conditioner

I LOVE HONEY!!! I love honey in my tea….I love honey on my face (yup, to wash my face!) and I love honey in my HAIR!

Honey is an amazing multi-use natural gift from God and is an amazing conditioner and humectant for our hair. I won’t go into too much detail on the benefits of honey because I plan on doing an Ingredients 101 post on it but I mention honey because it’s the main ingredient in the 2-in-1 Sweet Honey Deep Conditioner from The Natural Root. If you missed it, I did a review on their wonderful and very affordable Gourmet Rosemary, Sage, Lemongrass Shea Butter, AND they just updated their website which looks awesome might I add :o)

So the Sweet Honey Deep conditioner is a honey based, conditioning treatment and it comes in a glass mason jar ((I have an obsession with mason jars for some reason lol they just make whatever is in it look so pretty lol #weird)). I was sent the 8oz jar in my goodie bag I received awhile back. It retails for 6 oz for $6 or 8 oz for $15 on The Natural Root’s website.

Product Description
Our Sweet Honey treatment is comprised of the best oils for your hair. The coconut oil in our formula is one of the only oils that actually penetrates the hair shaft, leaving your hair soft and elongated, also it’s your built in hot oil treatment. The many characteristics of honey makes your hair nourished and enriched. Honey is food for hair, it hydrates, strengthens, stops shedding, breakages and adds elasticity.

How to apply: shampoo, rinse and towel dry hair. Remove excess water with towel. Mix honey in small bowl. Section hair into four areas. Apply honey with applicator from root to end of hair. Repeat steps on each section. Use fingers to work honey through hair. Cover hair with damp hand towel or bonnet, then plastic bag. Sit under dryer or steamer for 15 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and rinse with cool water.

Ingredients
Raw Honey, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, argan oil and avocado oil

So the 2-in-1 Deep Conditioner is a sweet and yummy combination of honey and oils, and it can be used 2 ways. You can use it either by itself (using the method above) or you can add it to a conditioner to enhance the benefits of the conditioner. If your hair is damaged and you are trying to nourish it back to health, it’s best to use it plain and strait from the jar and it’s even better if you use it with a steamer!! Unfortunately I don’t own a steamer but I have my Hair Therapy Warp Thermal Turban that I plan to use with this DC next time :o)

But since I feel like my hair is at a point where I can ((by the grace of God)) consider it healthy, I have just been mixing the Sweet Honey DC with my conditioners, mostly my cheapie conditioners like my Nature’s Gates or Trader Joe’s conditioners (Tea Tree Tingle or Nourish Spa) to give them a serious boost. I was actually amazed and what a huge difference it made!

I section my hair into 4 parts, squeeze a big old gob of conditioner in my hand and scoop some of the Sweet Honey DC into my hand and mix it with my fingers before applying it to my hair. I must caution you that it’s best to do this in the shower because it can get a little messy! lol Also, the honey and oils separate so you have to mix them together in the jar before you scoop it out. Oh and I am not sure if the label is waterproof or not so just be cautious with that also, I keep the jar on the little side ledge of my tub behind the shower curtain when I use it so it doesn’t get wet. Sometimes I will leave it in and sometimes not, but either way, it conditions my hair.

I can’t tell you enough how much honey REALLY improves the elasticity of your hair! I use it in my own DIY treatments like my Honey Banana one, and my hair loooooves it and it loves this Sweet Honey DC too! My hair feels so strong and soft after each use. The honey is a humectant so it just pulls aaaaalll that moisture into your strands (this is why using a steamer would be wonderful!). It’s got amazing oils, especially my beloved coconut hehe, which help seal in all the moisture the honey brings in. And another great thing about this DC also, is that honey is water soluble so it’s not sticky and doesn’t leave any residue.

This is definitely a really good, nourishing, restorative treatment for anyone trying to re-gain the health of their hair or trying to keep it healthy (which would be all of us not that I think about it lol) :o)

Oooooo and I also wanted to share some other goodies I got from The Natural Root (I feel SO spoiled!! THANK YOU!! God is Great!)). So I got a cute lil canvas bag with The Natural Roots signature “lady bun” as I call her :o), if you live in Montgomery County Maryland you will know HOW MUCH these bags come in handy because of the daggone bag tax! I also got some more of their amazing Gourmet Shea butter in the Tea Tree, Peppermint, Cinnamon. This has a very strong scent and reminds me of the holidays, probably because of the cinnamon. It’s very nice if you like the spicy kinds of scents! Of course, it works wonders for your hair and skin! I aaaaallso got some cute little greeting cards! I think this is such a cute, clever idea, they have cute sayings and messages so you can send cards to your curlfriends if they’re reached a “natural hair milestone” like a big chop or  reached a length goal lol :o) I love giving hand written notes and cards to people (Hallmark is one of my favorite stores lol) so this touched my heart :o)

Oh and all of these items are of course for sale on their website! Check ‘em out!

Ingredients 101 : : Mango Butter

ingredients_101_lacocobella-02Hii!!!

So I started a new series awhile back, made one post about it and haven’t ever since lol so I knew it was time to finish, or continue rather, what I started! I must say that my motivation was ONE reader who commented saying she “couldn’t wait for more posts on this series and that it was a genius idea!” Well THANK YOU to that reader because your words lingered and motivated me to continue! Hopefully you know who you are  :o)

So the series is called Ingredients 101 and I highlight and share the benefits of NATURAL, and ONLY natural, ingredients that I frequently see in some of my favorite products. In case you missed it, the first (and only lol) post was on Nettle, so be sure to check that out while you’re here :o)

I’ve become borderline obsessed intrigued with natural ingredients because I’ve concluded that the BEST ingredients are ALL NATURAL ingredients, meaning they were created by GOD! It’s amazing to me!!! Think about it…sorry but no man can formulate anything greater than what God created FOR US before mankind even existed! ….don’t believe me? Swap out your products that contain synthetic ingredients for all natural products and see how much healthier your hair will become. I’m a testimony of it :o)

Aaaaalright, moving along….

mango_16x9

Mango butter! I LOVE mango butter! Shea butter has made its place in the natural hair care world as the most popular butter BUT it is not the only butter, there are a BUNCH of other wonderful butters and mango is one of them! In fact, it’s my 2nd favorite butter as it is very similar to shea. I knew I loved mango butter from way back in the day when I used to use Elasta QP’s Mango butter when I had a relaxer. I think they have since improved their recipe for the product and added olive oil to it but I do remember loving it way back when :o)

Mango butter is pretty much an odorless butter (some say it can be sweet smelling) that is extracted from the kernels of the mango. Yup, from that giant hard thing in the middle of the fruit lol. Some of the products I use (and reviewed) that contain mango butter are:

Mango Butter is even found in some of my fav shampoo bars too hehe

Since became very intrigued by mango butter, I decided to buy it in it’s pure form to play around and make my own lil butter mixes. I bought 1/2 lb from Camden Grey Essential Oils for less than $10 I believe, I can’t recall the exact price but it wasn’t expensive at all. Yes, the pic below is an empty Talenti Gelato tub lol don’t laugh at me! It makes it easier to store and keeps it fresher since it came in zip lock bags from Camden Grey. It was kind of messy in the bags to I got a lil creative :o)

ingredients_101_mango_butter_lacocobella ingredients_101_mango_butter_lacocobella_2

So what’s the hype about mango butter? Well, for texture and consistency, it is very similar to shea butter. It’s very solid in it’s pure form but when it is warmed it becomes soft and smooth and when completely heated, it will become liquid, like an oil. It’s really emollient which means it’s smooth and will keep your hair sealed thus keeping your hair moisturized. It even protects your hair and scalp from UV rays! Sunscreen for your hair :o)

Mango butter is great for your skin which means it’s great for your scalp. It keeps your scalp supple, elastic, soft and helps promote cell regeneration. It also high levels of antioxidants and vitamins A, C, and E which are all said to  promote hair growth. Anything that helps promote a healthy scalp will equal hair GROWTH! :o)

A huge reason that makes mango butter so great, possibly even better than shea butter, is that it has higher level of fatty acids than shea. Fatty acids are essential for our hair and scalp because they help reduce frizziness, provide moisture, penetrate the hair shaft and enhance softness. Fatty acids are also anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral which is why mango butter is great for the scalp as well. So when there is a lack of fatty acids in your hair regimen, you may have weak, brittle hair, breakage and even hair loss. So be sure to try out some products that contain this wonderful butter!

Check out pics of my hair with ONLY mango butter, just plain and strait. Nothing else. It’s not whipped or anything, just strait out my Talenti Gelato tub :o) This was the first time I ever used it just strait up and all I can say is WOW.  I think I may have had the best twist out. It was too the point where I was like, damn, this may be all I need to use!! It was that serious!! I didn’t have to re-apply OR re-twist my hair not one time that entire week and my curls were till poppin, defined and frizz free. I need to start using products that contain more mango butter!! Look at the results and you will see what I mean!

Butter : : The Natural Root Gourmet Shea Butter Lemongrass Rosemary Sage

Butter : : The Natural Root Gourmet Shea Butter Lemongrass Rosemary Sage

Hello!!

Coming to you with a new little gem I’ve discovered :o) I was sent some goodies by the owner of this up and coming brand, The Natural Root, LLC and I wanted to share with you! I LOVE supporting small businesses in the Natural Hair world because they are 99% of time created by fellow curly girls and typically stemmed from a need they saw in their own personal lives. I am especially touched by The Natural Root because of the owners went natural when she lost all of her hair due to chemotherapy for breast cancer, a true testimony on how the Lord can create a blessing out of ANY situation no matter how grim it may look. The other owner of TNR even wrote a book about natural hair after she first decided to go natural due to the condition of her relaxed hair. I love hearing everyone’s unique stories of how they “came to Natural”, so inspiring and uplifting! :o)

So the first product from TNR I want to share is the Gourmet Shea Butter in Lemongrass, Rosemary & Sage. I received the 2.5 oz size which retails for $3.00 on their site. They also sell it in an 8 oz size for $10 as well as other variations which include Tea Tree/Peppermint/Cinnamon (I would LOVE to try this one eventually!), Black Butter Cookie and Plain.

Ingredients
Raw Shea butter, Coconut Oil, Mango butter, Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil

This butter is a so yummy! One of my newest fav thing is anything lemongrass (of course along with all things coconut and peppermint!), I also recently became obsessed with lemongrass tea too lol. THIS butter has the delicious aroma of lemongrass, it smells sooo good! It’s so unique because I seldom come across products with a high content, let alone the scent, of lemongrass! So definite points for the yummy scent :o) It also contains my beloved coconut oil so it helps strengthen my hair and penetrate the shaft. It also contains castor oil so this is great for your scalp as it also contains essential oils which help with growth stimulation (NOTE: the EO’s are not listed in the ingredients but it contains lemongrass, rosemary and sage EO’s)

The butter has a creamy, smooth whipped texture and is on the thicker side which I like. Looking at the butter literally makes me want to eat it lol I know that sounds weird but it just looks so daggone good lol almost like cookie dough (?? bad example maybe lol but I can only IMAGINE what their Black Butter kind smells like if it smells like cookies…..) What makes this butter even better, is that I am able to use it to seal my ends! I really love when I can use a product and not have to use another product to seal my ends, almost like it’s double duty :o) Don’t have keep reaching for different jars and getting oil/butter all over the containers lol (ya’ll know what I am talking about lol).

Of course I used this for my twist-out and loved the results! It gave me more of a fluffier twist out as it didn’t provide a tremendous amount of hold which is fine, I just re-twist my hair more often the week that I use it and make the twists tighter and smaller. It most definitely seals in moisture and makes my hair super soft, not to mention the yummy lemongrass scent lingers all week (nothing overbearing though!). Although its a thick butter, it does not weigh my hair hair and it not greasy at all! It truly does make me feel like I am applying something gourmet on my hair!

Check out the results below!

Butter : : Mahogany Princess Hair Butter

Butter : : Mahogany Princess Hair Butter

Hello!

Remember Ashley, my Girl Behind the Curl from last week?! Well, if you read her feature, you would have seen that she not only has her own blog, Urbane Natural, but also her own hair product line called Mahogany Queen! She was kind enough to send me a sample of one of her products! it’s the Mahogany Princess Hair Butter and you can find it on her site for $12 for an 8 oz. jar. My sample was about 2 oz and came it a cute little glass jar. I also love her logo and her tagline, ‘You are a Queen, so be one” :o) Very inspiring and uplifting!

mahogany_queen_princess_butter mahogany_queen_princess_butter3Product Description
Mahogany Princess Hair Butter was created for young girls with natural hair. As a believer in self love, it’s important for me to show women and young girls how to love and care for their natural tresses naturally. This butter is great for twists, sets, puffs and overall moisture and sheen. With its fruity fragrance, your princess will immediately fall in love with it.

Ingredients
Shea Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Avocado butter, Sunflower oil, Olive Oil

I love how this butter is simple and all natural. I can’t stress enough that the products that always and consistently give me the best results a.k.a. good hair days lol ALWAYS come from products with the purest and most natural ingredients…this definitely delivered! I was pleasantly surprised! This product reminded me a lot of my all-time fav butter, the Gud Stuff. They have similar ingredients too which made me happy and even have a similar consistency and color. It’s really smooth and buttery when you apply :o)

I used this for my twists AAAAAND I was able to seal my ends with it! That cut the time it took to do my hair down since I didn’t have to keep reaching for an additional jar. It made my ends and my hair buttery soft. I really loved the results! I didn’t have to reapply throughout the week, just spritzed and re-twisted at night twice that week. It gave me nice definition like a heavier butter would but it isn’t heavy when applied and kept the moisture sealed in my hair all week. The scent is light and pleasant. I am not 100% sure if it has fragrance added but I am pretty sure it does.

One thing in the ingredients that stood out the most to me was the sunflower oil. I have never used sunflower oil by itself and I don’t think any of the products I have contain it so I had to jump on Google lol I do remember awhile back my neighbor and fellow hair blogger, Fleurtzy of Texture Playground, mentioning that she bought some sunflower oil to detangle her hair and come to find out, it is very emollient which softens and lubricates the hair. It also is really good for sealing in moisture (no wonder I didn’t have to reapply and it sealed my ends!).

Check out the results! Here’s my hair the morning after I initially twisted. Went for a zig zag center part.

Mahogany_queen_princess_butter

***SIDEBAR– I did another henna treatment the night before I took these pics lol I know, I know, it didn’t take long for me to be hooked lmao! But I say that because I added turmeric (yup, the yellow spice in curry and mustard) to the henna because I researched that it makes the color more golden (you can see a golden tinge at my roots). Not sure if it really made much of a difference for me as far as my hair color goes. I was just experimenting :o) I love using turmeric on my face though! I’ve been using it to help fade acne scars and it has been working! But yea, check out the shine in my hair which I can definitely attribute to the henna!Mahogany_queen_princess_butter2 Mahogany_queen_princess_butter3Mahogany_queen_princess_butter4

Here’s my 2nd day hair. I didn’t re-twist, just slept with a scarf tied loosely around my hair. You can see the turmeric color well in my scalp. It will fade eventually, especially after my next wash. It’s not that bright in person, the flash is making to stand out like that in the pic :o) Regardless, the Princess butter kept my hair looking nice the entire week!Mahogany_queen_princess_butter5Mahogany_queen_princess_butter6 Mahogany_queen_princess_butter7

Ashley, you’ve got a nice product! Keep it up and we’ll be looking forward to seeing more from your up and coming business venture! :o)

Butter :: Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly Butter

Butter :: Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly Butter

Hey!!

Today’s post is another phenomenal product from one of newest favorite product lines, Bee Mine! I recently discovered this brand and fell in love as soon as I tried the Bee-U-Ti-Full Moisturizing Deep Conditioner. And now I would like to share my experience with the Bee Hold Curly Butter that I was sent along with my other Bee Mine goodies. It’s a shea and aloe based butter that gives incredible hold and shine!

The Bee Hold Curly butter (isn’t that a cute name!?) is sold on Bee Mine’s website in 3 different sizes which is cool, I like having options :o) So you can buy the small size if you’re afraid of commitment (even though it’s worth it!) or the large size if you’re a fan! The sizes are 2 oz for $4.50, 8 oz for $13.97 or 16oz $23.00. You can also buy the 8 oz size on CurlMart for $13.97. Oh and it also comes in different scents!! (you know I love that lol). I was given the Coconut Cream, which is de-licious, but it also comes in Island Mango and unscented for those with sensitive noseys.

One thing I really like/appreciate about Bee Mine’s packaging (besides the really cute artwork! hehe) is that the tubs come sealed with a thin, protective film so you don’t have to worry about anything leaking in transit. I thought that was a really nice idea as far as packaging goes. It’s the little things that make me happy lol :o)

bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter1 bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter2

Product Description
This shea butter and aloe based curly butter is packed with rich moisturizing nutrients to give you long lasting moisture and promote growth. It has a soft touchable hold that will help to defrizz your frizzes and give great definition. This Curly Butter is wonderful for twists, finger curls, puffs/pony tails and especially for laying down unruly hair. Great for naturals, relaxed, texlaxed, everyone.

Ingredients
100% Shea Butter, 100% Aloe Vera Gel, Essential Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Rosemary Leaf and Chamomile Extract, Silk Powder, Paraben & Formaldehyde Free Preservative and Perfume.

It’s interesting that this is called a butter because it actually has the consistency of a pudding and applies wet. I guess when I think of butter, I think more of….well a butter! lol but shea butter is listed as the first ingredient so it technically is a butter! My FAV thing about the Bee Hold is that it contains a high content of aloa vera gel. I have found that my hair responds REALLY well to products that contain aloe vera. Aloe vera gives me INCREDIBLE hold and SHINE! Some of my newer readers may not have seen this, but if you haven’t, check out my post when I used just straight, pure aloe gel (the kind you can ingest). I LOVED how my hair looked…even though I learned I needed to mix it with some type of butter or oil so my hair wouldn’t feel so dry….either way, the point I’m trying to make is AV makes my hair super shiny and super defined! Aloe overall is really good for the hair as it’s a humectant AND it’s good for your scalp! It actually aids in promoting growth since it has astringent properties. I apply pure AV gel to my scalp during the hot summer months. I keep the AV gel in the refrigerator and it feels so soothing and cooling. Try it out if you have some in your fridge :o) So with that said, you can apply the Bee Hold butter to your scalp as well.

This product definitely lives up to its name! I used this for my usual twist-out and I had curl definition for days…literally! I was able to get really nice 2nd day and 3rd day hair with this stuff! My hair felt really soft and not dry at all (referring back to my AV gel experience I just mentioned). It didn’t leave a residue, my hair didn’t feel weighted down and it kept frizz at bay. It’s like my hair cuticle was really smoothed down. I can’t get over the shine!

I noticed the Bee Hold Butter contains silk powder and I don’t think I’ve ever used anything with silk powder so I was like hmmm let me do some Googling lol So silk powder is known to provide moisture balance, promote suppleness, shine and elasticity which all sounds great to me! I guess that, along with the AV, could be why my hair felt so soft and shiny! I love discovering different ingredients, I always stress to my readers, check the ingredients in products you KNOW work well in your hair and if you are trying to find new products, search for ones that contain the same ingredients. That way you will know what products will give you consistent results.

Here’s my fresh twists in the morning. Because this applies wet, make sure you allow yourself enough time for drying. I did this to ensure it was dry by the time I separated the twists. Check out the amazing shine! I was like daaaaaaaaang wear’s my sunglasses!? (I know, i’m such a cornball lol)

bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter3 bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter4

Below is my hair freshly untwisted in the morning. ***Peep the 49ers jersey. And the pics below are 2nd day hair (just put a scarf on at night, didn’t retwist). Still lots of shine and definition!bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter8 bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter9 bee_mine_Bee_hold_curly_butter10

I am very pleased with the Bee Hold butter! Bee Mine has definitely done it again! Wish I had discovered this brand sooner ;o)

Butter :: Karen’s Body Beautiful Butter Love

Butter :: Karen’s Body Beautiful Butter Love

Howdy!

This is my 2nd product experience from the Karen’s Body Beautiful line of products that are now going to be sold in Target stores this month (Yaayyyy!!). In case you missed it, check out my experience with my top fav leave-in conditioner of all time… the Sweet Ambrosia here!

Ok this is all about the wonderful Butter Love. It’s literally a simple, lovely mixture of some of the best butters for hair! It comes in a 6.7 oz tub for $18. And YES if you order from the KBB site, you can pick which scent you want! Mine below is the Pomegranate Guava so it’s got a juicy, fruity tropical thing going on. KBB scents are never overbearing but linger in your hair for a couple days which I love :o)

karens_body_beautiful_butter_love karens_body_beautiful_butter_love2

Product Description
Made only from rich, thick butters and luxurious oils, Karen’s Butter Love conditions, softens and adds sheen to fragile, stressed hair. Great for thick hair. Use twice a week on hair and scalp or as needed.Works best on dry hair since wet hair generally doesn’t absorb butters and rich oils readily.

Ingredients
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao) , Mango Butter (Mangifera Indica) , Jojoba Butter (Simmondsia Chinensis), Aloe Butter, Essential and/or Fragrance Oils (Parfum), Grapefruit Seed Oil (Citrus Paradisi) & Vitamin E (Tocopherol). Glycerin Free, Paraben Free, Protein Free, Silicone Free, Sulfate Free

If you check out the ingredients, you’ll see it’s literally a love swirl of butters! Its super thick and solid in the tub. I have to literally dig my fingers in it to scoop up the butter which isn’t an issue for me. It may soften a bit in warmer temperatures or in the summer but as soon as you rub it in between your fingers/hands it softens and you can then apply it. It’s not greasy or oily, its truly a solid butter with more of a waxy feel (but not in a bad way!). You can even use this on your skin :o)

When I first bought this years ago, I didn’t really know exactly what to do with plain, pure butters because I hadn’t really gotten into the 100% natural way of maintaining my hair so it kind of sat under my sink for awhile lol BUT as soon as I discovered the power of sealing your hair….this is GOLD to me! So ever since I have been using this to seal my ends. THICK butters are the best thing for sealing your ends. I also like to use this on parts of my hair that lose moisture the most like around my edges and the nape of my neck. I could use this as my main product to do twist-outs but I like to reserve it for sealing since I do that frequently. This is also good for holding down your edges when you apply it and tie a scarf over to “set” them or I use it to smooth my hair when I do a puff. It definitely doesn’t hold like gel does but it works if you  “set” your hair with a scarf to hold them edges down lol.

Check out the pictures below of my hair styled with the Sweet Ambrosia and the ends sealed with the Butter Love. When your ends are sealed, your curls should clump and be defined and the Butter Love really does that. If you look at my posts for the Sweet Ambrosia, I used the Butter Love in those pics too so check those out too.

karens_body_beautiful_butter_love karens_body_beautiful_butter_love2

If you’ve been looking for something to seal your ends with or just have a good, high-quality general use butter, this is good buy. The price point is a bit high but I’ve found the all the KBB products I’ve used last a really long time and plus with butters you don’t need to use a lot, especially when they are thick and dense like the Butter Love :o)

Product : : The Gud Stuff Peace of Mind

Product : : The Gud Stuff Peace of Mind

Howdy!

I am really excited to share this product that was sent to me for review. I love discovering little treasures that aren’t super mainstream and filled with marketing ploys. I find they are the purest in ingredients, made with love :o) and yield the best results! So my latest experience was with this wonderful all-natural hair and body moisturizer called The Gud Stuff in the Peace of Mind variation! Isn’t that a cute name!? Although the guds are made for both hair and skin, I opted to stick to using it for my hair.

Look how they have an inspiring quote on the protective lid (a deep quote at that!)

Sooo what’s so good about the Gud Stuff? Well it’s organic, filled with vitamins, fatty acids (which are essential for hydrating your hair and reducing frizz), sealing oils (including my fav, coconut!), helps prevent thinning and breakage. It comes in 4 scents, I was sent the Peace of Mind which has a lavender vanilla scent. I am not a huge fan of lavender scents so this scent kinda took some tolerating for me BUT I was sent some teeny samples of the other variations and the Sunset in Senegal is AMAZING! It’s a deeper, frankincense, sweet spicy scent. I know that’s not the best description but it is GUD! Also, the Miss Bliss scent is also a wonderful. It’s more of a fresh, clean scent. There’s also an unscented version, Plain Paradise, for those with sensitivities. Each retails for $10.95 for 4 oz and $19.95 for 8 oz.

Product Description (for Peace of Mind)

Peaceful indeed. With a soft touch of lavender vanilla, it’s sure to mellow your mind and ease tension and stress. Great for massages and head to toe usage. The soothing properties of lavender vanilla whisk the senses into a serene and comforting escape. Great for lavender lovers and those keen to soft elegance. Provides lasting protection for hair and skin.

Ingredients

Unrefined Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Vitamin E (Tocopherol), Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis), Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Natural Fragrance, Grape Seed Extract, Primerose Seed Extract, Organic Sunflower Oil, Meadowfoam Oil.

The guds have a really nice, rich, creamy texture. It’s like a velvety paste almost. I used it to set my twist-out (of course lol). I always have a tendency to underestimate how much product I actually need to use, and end up applying too much! Ugh it’s my heavy handedness lol So I say that to say, you DON’T need to use much! I love products like this because you can get more uses out of them and don’t need to buy the large sizes (saves moolah and makes them easier to store if you’re a product junkie like me lol)

I got awesome results from this stuff, my hair was SUPER soft (reminded me of the softness I got when I used the Shea Radiance Hair Butter) and it sealed in moisture extremely well. It was almost surprising because I have to admit, as soon as I opened the container and saw the texture, I thought it may be a bit too light to really hold in moisture and hold the style. My hair tends to respond better to thicker butters but this blew me away! But wait, it gets better….I could SEAL MY ENDS with this!! I think that sealed the deal for me on this (no pun intended lol) The reason this is HUGE for me is because the only products so far that actually do the job of sealing my ends are Oyin’s Pomades or just strait up, thick, raw shea butter, that’s it but now….hehe…I can add this! I was amazed. Loves it!!

Check out some flicks of the results! Oh and remember, I am now twisting my hair using the Naptural85 Twist-out method! Skim through my older posts to see the difference (hopefully you can and it’s not just me lol)

First Day, freshly untwisted

Second Day, did not not retwist, just tied a scarf loosely over my hair at night and re-fluffed in the morning

I think this was 4th day hair, I re-twisted the night before with only water (no additional product applied)

…a keeper! :o) :o)
